Who we are
A Nigerian non-governmental organisation dedicated to reducing illness, disability, and preventable death from Hepatitis B and Prostate Cancer.
The Nathan & Esther Health Foundation (NAEHF) is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to reducing illness, disability, and preventable death from two of Nigeria’s most under-screened health conditions: Hepatitis B and Prostate Cancer.
We exist because the gap between knowing a disease is preventable and actually preventing it is, in too many communities, a gap that costs lives. We are a humanitarian organisation built on the conviction that no Nigerian should die from a condition that could have been detected in time.
Our approach is practical, community-centred, and grounded in evidence. We go to where people are — with the information, the tests, and the follow-through that can change the course of a life.
“We are not waiting for the system to fix itself. We are going into communities with the knowledge, tests, and pathways to care that can make the difference between early detection and late tragedy.”
Our visionA Nigeria where Hepatitis B is no longer passed silently from person to person, and Prostate Cancer is no longer a death sentence — because every Nigerian, regardless of where they live or what they earn, has access to the screening, information, and care they need to live.
Our missionTo protect Nigerian lives from the preventable burden of Hepatitis B and Prostate Cancer through community-driven awareness, accessible screening, vaccination, and structured linkage to quality care — with a commitment to equity, dignity, and lasting impact.
Our core values
- Equity
- We direct our work toward the communities and populations most often overlooked by existing health services.
- Compassion
- Human dignity is at the centre of every interaction with beneficiaries, partners, and communities.
- Evidence
- We act on data, not assumptions. Our programmes are designed, monitored, and adapted based on field conditions.
- Partnership
- Shared effort multiplies impact. No organisation reaches further alone, and we build collaborative relationships that expand what’s possible.
- Integrity
- Transparency and accountability govern all our operations with donors, partners, and the communities we serve.
